Captain Bob’s Time Machine is two hours of Oldies—Pop music from the era of the transistor radio (50s, 60s and early 70s)—music that Bob says was popular when he was. Listen every Saturday from 8 until 10 a.m. as he digitally spins classic Pop records and provides “fun facts” about the music and artists of Baby-Boomers’ youth.
Captain Bob (Bob Flocke) is a 19-year Wimberley resident and retired Army officer. He served eight years on the Wimberley city council—four as mayor. Having lived all over the world, he says that Wimberley is the only place he’s ever been where everybody is here because they want to be. No one sent them here, and they weren’t “assigned” to Wimberley. It is home. He and “The Chief” (wife Jenelle) are always happy to return to Wimberley from their travels. Bob’s music tastes haven’t changed in 50 years, so he remains a listener of 50s and 60s Pop music. Chief, Jr. (daughter Cathy) was the only kid in the sixth grade who knew all the words to Buddy Holly’s songs because of listening to Dad’s tapes on trips. Captain Bob also serves as KWVH traffic reporter with the Traffic Blimp crew Captain Crash Craddock and Hildegard, a former East German shot putter. They report on Wimberley traffic weekday mornings on the Breakfast Taco and Over Easy With Coach.
